Mount Prindle, White Mountains, AK

prindle tors

Mount Prindle is underlain by  a Cretaceous to Paleogene composite pluton (Mt. Prindle pluton) emplaced into the Yukon – Tanana terrane.  Research involves understanding the age and emplacement mechanisms of the plutonic body. In addition, research aimed at determining the complex fluid history of the granite is ongoing to decipher the major and trace element signal of alteration, which involves the characterization of common petrochronometers including zircon, biotite, muscuvite, monazite, and xenotime.
